At Currumbin Clinic, the trauma program has 14 premium rooms that are thoughtfully designed to provide a peaceful and private sanctuary where patients can begin their journey understanding and managing their PTSD. Each room offers a serene view of the surrounding Australian bushland, allowing patients to reconnect with nature and find solace in its beauty.
The program has dedicated patient and group rooms in a shared space fostering a sense of community among patients of the program. Throughout the hospital itself, you'll find inviting courtyards, a fully equipped gym, and comfortable lounge areas to relax and connect with others. In addition to the comfort of the hospital; only a 3 minute walk away is one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches.
In this tranquil and supportive setting, patients are empowered to connect with others and themselves, integrate their life experiences, and cultivate the resilience needed to become the person they aspire to be.
Our trauma program is designed to support individuals to understand, manage, and minimise the impact that post-traumatic stress disorder has on their life. The program follows the research based “stage oriented approach” for trauma treatment and employs a range of treatment modalities across multiple phases in both inpatient and day program settings. Over the course of the program patients will engage in a range of intervention and topics, including trauma focused group psychotherapy, individual EMDR, and a range of holistic based adjunct groups to support overall healthy living through exercise, nutrition, and art therapy.
Our comprehensive team of experts includes consultant psychiatrists, a trauma care coordinator, mental health nurses, psychologists, dietitians, and exercise physiologists.
