What Happens After My Referral Is Sent?

Once we receive your referral, our Admissions and Assessment Team will contact you to discuss your circumstances and complete a brief assessment.

This assessment helps us understand:

  • Your current mental health concerns
  • Previous treatment history
  • Current supports and healthcare providers
  • Funding eligibility
  • The most appropriate treatment pathway

If inpatient treatment is suitable, we will coordinate the next steps and arrange admission.

Costs and Health Insurance

Many patients access treatment through private health insurance.

Our Admissions and Assessment Team will contact your health fund, insurer or funding provider to confirm:

  • Eligibility for admission
  • Coverage for treatment
  • Any excesses or co-payments
  • Potential out-of-pocket expenses

If you are required to pay an excess or co-payment, this will generally be payable at the time of admission.

If you have questions about costs, our team can provide an estimate before your admission date.
