Dr David Batten

Dr David Batten brings a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders across various fields. His expertise encompasses mood disorders, addictions, trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, pain management, forensic psychiatry, and the psychiatry of old age. Additionally, he is trained and accredited in the treatment of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Dr Batten obtained his medical qualifications from the prestigious University of Sydney. His medical career spans major public hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne, and Northern NSW, where he has gained invaluable clinical experience. Prior to his medical career, Dr Batten had a distinguished background in law and engineering, obtaining qualifications from the University of Melbourne. This unique combination of skills has enhanced his medical practice, particularly in the area of advocacy.

Currently, Dr Batten serves as a general adult psychiatrist with a special interest in psychotherapy. His holistic approach focuses on understanding and treating mental health disorders by considering the patient as a whole.

Outside of work, Dr Batten is a long-suffering Essendon supporter in the AFL, and a perpetual beginner at surfing and golf. As a Victorian, he loves being in Queensland, and is grateful to be a part of the team at Currumbin Clinic.
