Update 6 March 2025, 4:00pm

We are working to have our phones diverted to this line as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. While Currumbin Clinic remains open, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. As we continue to monitor the severe weather, we’ve made some adjustments to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors. Our Disaster Management Committee is actively working with local authorities to stay ahead of developments.

CURRENT PATIENTS

  • Inpatient care continues as usual, and group programs will still be provided. If you have any concerns, please speak with your nurse.
  • Discharges will proceed as planned. If road closures prevent you from getting home, speak with your nurse so we can support you in making alternative arrangements.
  • Onsite support: Both Dr. MacDonald and I will be onsite during the most concerning period of the weather event to ensure patients and staff are fully supported.
  • Psychiatrist availability: Some psychiatrists may be unable to offer face-to-face appointments. Where possible, they will provide telehealth consultations. If telehealth is not an option due to service disruptions, you will be temporarily allocated to a psychiatrist who is available onsite.
  • Safety precautions: Please take extra care if you are going outside, as conditions may be hazardous. As the cyclone intensifies, we will restrict entry and exit to the hospital to keep everyone safe. The safest place for you is inside the building.

HOSPITAL IN THE HOME

  • Hospital in the Home services will be provided via telehealth. Patients will be contacted to arrange their sessions.

UPCOMING PATIENTS

  • We will continue to accept inpatient admissions.
  • Day programs for Thursday and Friday have been cancelled.
  • If you cannot attend your appointment or admission, please call admissions 1800 119 118 to reschedule.
  • Private practice appointments have been converted to telehealth, and patients are being contacted with details.

STAFF & VMOs

  • If you are unable to attend your shift, please notify your manager ASAP.
  • Urgent updates will be sent to your personal email on file and shared in our closed Facebook group.
  • EAP support is available via Loti or through your manager.

VISITORS

  • Check road closures before travelling. If needed, staff can assist with alternative communication options for connecting with loved ones.
