Currumbin Clinic has contracts with all private health insurance funds. Before admission, we will verify your insurance details.
If your private health insurance does not fully cover your stay, we will let you know your estimated out-of-pocket expenses. You will need to pay this prior to admission.
You are not required to pay the portion of your account covered by your private health fund. We will claim those benefits on your behalf. As part of our policy on informed financial consent, we will give you an estimate of your expenses and a form to sign.
Currumbin Clinic is a Tier 1 provider for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
As part of this relationship, we provide a range of psychiatric and mental health services to eligible veterans and war widows, including:
If you are an eligible veteran or war widow, you will not receive an account for personal expenses for treatment at Currumbin Clinic.
For pharmacy and personal items you have purchased, not related to your admission diagnosis, you will receive an account.
Under an agreement with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, eligible veterans and war widows are admitted to shared room accommodation unless the medical condition requires single room facilities.
If your personal preference is single room accommodation, arrangements should be discussed with hospital staff.
Some veteran patients are eligible to have transport arranged for them through the DVA.
Patients can pre-arrange transport vouchers with their General Practitioner prior to their admission to cover their journey to and from Hospital.
Alternatively, please speak to hospital staff when organising your discharge. They will assist with your discharge transport arrangements.
If you are a DVA patient, you must have your admission approved before admission. The DVA will receive your account to pay us directly.
For more information about DVA admission, contact the DVA on 133 254 or your local Veterans’ Affairs office on 1800 838 372.
If you are claiming workers compensation, you must have your claim approved before admission. Your workers compensation insurer will receive your account to pay us directly.
After you leave hospital, you may receive an account for other charges incurred during your stay that are not the responsibility of the hospital. This may include charges for medications not related to your admission or diagnosis.
