Our day, evening and follow up programs are available after hospital admission, and for those who have not had an inpatient stay at Currumbin Clinic before. 

Addictive Disorders

Addictive Disorders

The Addictions program is for people diagnosed with substance relative and addictive disorders and want to learn and expand their knowledge and skills towards abstinence based recovery in a supportive atmosphere. This program may be useful in addressing individual clinical needs.

Addictions First Step Program

Patients diagnosed with both substance use (eg alcohol, prescription medications or other drugs) and other mental health disorders (eg Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder). The program requires patients to be stable and able to attend group on a regular basis, having the capacity to stay in group the full duration and who can demonstrate a clear commitment to changing their behaviour. 

Addictions Recovery

If patients have attended the Addictions First Steps program recently and wish to maintain or refresh their skills in a supportive group atmosphere, this
program may be useful in addressing their individual clinical needs.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

This program may be useful in addressing individual clinical needs of people recovering from a mental illness such as anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder.

Building Strength and Resilience

This program is for people recovering from a mental health problem like depression, anxiety, addiction and adjustment issues and would like to build on their day-to-day coping skills. This program may be useful in helping to ‘bounce back’ and meet daily demands

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

People diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder or who self harm, have intense and unstable mood states and unstable relationships, this program may be useful in addressing individual clinical needs. DBT also requires a strong commitment to therapy.

Dealing with Distress

This program is skills based and assists participants in tolerating intense feelings and learning to manage self-harming behaviours often associated with Borderline Personality Disorder. It is based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Exercise for Mental Health

This group program promotes healthy living and aims to help patients integrate aspects of both psychological and physical recovery. It focuses on topics such as nutrition, diet, exercise, balanced lifestyle, motivation, goal setting, and mindfulness.

Managing Adult ADHD

This program is useful for people diagnosed with ADHD, who experience ADHD like symptoms such as difficulties with concentration, attention, and impulse control.

Men's Personal Development Program

For men who want to gain insights and skills to help develop their overall physical, emotional and mental well-being in a supportive environment. It utilizes recognized therapeutical methodologies, interactive teaching processes, and both self esteem and confidence building techniques, all centred on helping you become a happier, more productive and emotionally centred man.

Mindful Self Development

This program focuses on the skills needed to manage dysregulated emotions and interactions. It provides the foundation skills of DBT, encourages mindful practice and enables participants to increase their self esteem and self awareness through expressive art psychotherapy and experiential exercises.

Project Art

This program is for people diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety disorders and addictive disorders and who find creative activities beneficial, or have an interest in finding new ways to express oneself and explore problems creatively are encouraged to attend this program. It is not necessary to have any art skills to participate

R.E.A.C.H CBT for Mood Disorders

This Black Dog Institute developed program is designed for people diagnosed with depression or bipolar disorder and would like to manage it more effectively through the application of proven Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.
