About the Program:
This program is developed for individuals who are further along in their addictions recovery journey. They have completed the Addictions First Steps program, and have an ongoing commitment to sobriety. The program takes more of a fluid, psychodynamic approach, with elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The morning session is dedicated to exploring issues that have arisen during the week, while the afternoon session focuses on the skills needed to maintain recovery and lessen relapse.
Who is this program for?
This is for individuals who are further along in their recovery journey. Individuals who have completed the Addictions First Steps program and are looking for a supportive maintenance group may wish to sign up to our open Addictions Recovery program.

About the Program
This program is designed for individuals who are early in their journey of sobriety, need a review of the fundamental skills used in addictions recovery or have had a recent lapse/relapse. It aims to assist patients diagnosed with both substance use and other mental health disorders to better manage their moods and change addictive behaviours. The program combines evidence based interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), relapse prevention and motivational enhancement. Each session offers group educational sessions and practice of key strategies and skills with a focus on mood management, relapse prevention, life skills and building supports
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for individuals with both a substance use (e.g., alcohol, prescription medication or other drugs) and other mental health disorders (e.g., Depression, Anxiety etc.). This group is for individuals who have committed to a life of sobriety and are wanting to learn skills and strategies to manage urges associated with addiction, and other mental health challenges.

About the Program
This program is developed for individuals who have a strong foundational knowledge of distress tolerance skills and strategies used to support their mental health. The program draws on principals of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the Mindfulness module of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help individuals to strengthen and deepen their identity. This program aims to build self-esteem, self-efficacy, feelings of confidence and competence, self-awareness and overall quality of life. This program incorporates experiential applications of classic psychotherapy principals, for example through art and creativity.
Who is this program for?
This program is for individuals who have likely completed another Currumbin Clinic Day Program and are wanting a supportive maintenance space. Individuals in this program are at a relatively stable place in their mental health journey, and are wanting to further deepen their self-awareness and insight.
Semi-Closed Group – 6 months
About the Program:
This program is designed for individuals who struggle with intense emotions and associated impulsivity. Entering this program, participants may report struggling in their relationships and having an unstable sense of self. This program is helpful for individuals who have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, but is not a prerequisite. This program is also helpful for individuals who engage in suicidal and non-suicidal self-harming behaviors, addictions and other forms of coping that may not be sustainable of healthy in the long term. The program includes the 4 modules of DBT: Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, and Emotion Regulation.
Who is this program for?
This program is best suited for individuals who struggle with managing intense emotions. As such, this program is helpful for individuals who might impulsively engage in risk taking behaviors, struggle to maintain healthy relationships and have an unstable sense of self. Individuals coming into this group might have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder.
This program is an intensive 6 month program and therefore requires a strong commitment. If you are unsure whether DBT is the right program for you or whether it is the right time for such a big commitment, it could be worth considering the 12 week Dealing with Distress Day Program, which is an introduction to DBT and can be done prior to the 6 month DBT Program.

About the Program
Sometimes words are not enough and art therapy provides the opportunity to express oneself more fully through a range of different art materials and activities. It engages the range of senses rather than relying solely on the mind and talking techniques. This open group program focuses on the benefits of creative expression within a group setting. Art therapy can lead to enhanced wellbeing, increased self-awareness and understanding, as well as discovering new perspectives and improving problem solving. Please note, the final art ‘product’ is not the focus of this program and no pre-existing art abilities or talents is required for this program.
Who is this program for?
This program is beneficial for individuals who process their emotions and experiences in ways outside of typical talk therapy. Coming into Project Art, individuals might have a diagnosis of a mood disorder, addictive disorder or anxiety disorder. This program does not require any artistic ability or creativity. The focus is on the process, rather than the outcome.

About the program
This is 12 week introductory Dialectical and Behavioural Therapy group therapy program. This is a great program to introduce the concept of DBT and build a foundation of the key principals and skills taught in this modality. Some individuals prefer to do Dealing with Distress to get a taste of DBT prior to entering the 6 month program. Whereas, others don’t feel like they need the intensity of a 6 month program, but need to skills of DBT. The program includes the 4 modules of DBT: Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, and Emotion Regulation.
Who is this program for?
This program is best suited for individuals who struggle with managing intense emotions. Different from the 6 month DBT program, the Dealing with Distress program is designed as an introduction to DBT. It is guided by the same 3 modules (Core Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness), but focuses on teaching only the core skills of each module. This program is great for individuals who would like a taste of DBT with a shorter commitment.

About the Program
The exercise for Mental Health program is run by our Mental Health Exercise Physiologist. This group program promotes healthy living and aims to help patients integrate aspects of both psychological and physical recovery. It focuses on topics such as nutrition, diet, exercise, balanced lifestyle, motivation, goal setting, and mindfulness. Elements of this program are run in our on-site gymnasium, but is designed for individuals of all fitness levels.
Who is this program for?
This program is a great option for individuals who are wanting to learn more about the mind and body. It includes both educational and physical elements. Our program is designed to be helpful for a range of different physical fitness levels, and our Exercise Physiologist is great at tailoring the group sessions to meet your needs.

About the Program
Managing Adult ADHD is a structured therapy program designed to empower individuals with ADHD to better navigate their daily lives. Our neurodiverse-affirming approach holds the delicate balance of behaviour change and environment change. Through a combination of evidence-based strategies and practical skills training, participants learn to manage their symptoms, improve focus, and enhance time management. Each session incorporates cognitive-behavioural techniques, mindfulness practices, and interactive exercises, fostering a supportive environment for sharing experiences and challenges. By the end of the program, individuals gain greater self-awareness and practical tools to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Who is this program for?
This group is designed for individuals with a diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or who experience ADHD like symptoms that may interfere with their functioning. As such, this program is helpful for those who struggle with concentration, attention, and impulse control.

About the Program
This program helps individuals build awareness of the different types of anxiety, and insight into what internal and external factors might be perpetuating clinical feelings of anxiousness. The program uses principals of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to build skills and strategies to manage anxiety. This program also provides a strong overview of exposure therapy, such that individual psychologists can focus on tailoring exposure hierarchies to specific needs.
Who is this program for?
This program is suitable for anyone who has an anxiety diagnosis, or who feels that anxiety is interfering with their life. This program helps you to understand the different types of anxiety, and build relevant and applicable skills and strategies to manage anxiousness so that you can be more present and engaged in your life.

About the program
The aim of the Men’s Personal Development Program is to teach you how to genuinely enjoy the experience of being you. This is a 12 week program utilising recognised therapeutic strategies, and interactive teaching processes to support participants in building both self-esteem and self-confidence. Elements of this program focus on Anger and Communication to support in building the relationship with yourself and others.
Who is this program for?
This program is a great option for gentlemen of experience who might not have previously had a space to connect and discuss their mental health needs. This program is suitable for gentlemen whose mental health is relatively stable, and they are wanting a space to connect and learn.

About the Program
This is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based program that addresses problems that arise from serving in high stress occupations, such as stress and arousal management, anger management, and communication and relationship skills. Understanding the Military experience, this program is trauma informed. It also provides a safe, confidential and supportive environment to complement individual treatment pathways.

This program is designed for all currently serving military and veteran personnel, and current or ex- serving emergency services personnel. It is also designed for all individuals who have worked on the front line in Emergency Services.

About the Program
This program aims to help individuals understand the impact of trauma on their lives. It is designed specifically for Veterans and Emergency Services personnel, and therefore provides understanding and education specific to these lines of work. Once building an understanding of the impact of the trauma, this program aims to help individuals build a set of skills to help with symptom reduction. This includes reducing the impact on their thinking and ability to regulate emotions, such that they can gain a greater sense of control over their life through improved flexibility and distress tolerance.
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for all currently serving military and veteran personnel, and current or ex- serving emergency services personnel. It is also designed for all individuals who have worked on the front line in Emergency Services.
It is recommended that individuals start with this program before transitioning to the Effective Communication and Mastering Anger program to build foundational understandings of trauma and skills to cope.

About the program
This is an open group, which is designed to be a follow up program for individuals who have completed the 12 week Effective Communication and Mastering Anger Program. This longer term program covers a broad range of topics based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. As an example, sessions include managing mood and anxiety symptoms, understanding emotions, addiction, sleep and more. The program is delivered with a trauma-informed approach, understanding the background of the individuals who in the room.
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for all currently serving military and veteran personnel, and current or ex- serving emergency services personnel. It is also designed for all individuals who have worked on the front line in Emergency Services.
This program is designed as a follow-up program for individuals who have already completed one of the other Veterans and Emergency Services programs through Currumbin Clinic. As such, coming into this group, individuals are relatively stable and have a strong support network and foundation.
