Dr Olm has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of mental health issues and is passionate about positive mental health outcomes for all Australians. She has developed a particular interest in preventative health and wellbeing, addiction psychiatry, and pain management, but also enjoys all facets of psychiatry such as general depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders and trauma related disorders.

She also has specialised training in psychotherapy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. She is a Member of the Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry and a Member of the Section of Electroconvulsive Therapy & Neurostimulation. Dr Olm is a registered Opiate Therapy Program (OTP) prescriber in Queensland. She finds it important to allow space for psychological therapies within her practice.

Dr Olm studied Medicine in Brisbane at University of Queensland, having grown up on a farm in the Lockyer Valley. Prior to commencement of her specialty she completed her junior doctor training at Toowoomba Hospital and worked in intensive care at St Vincent’s Hospital.

She completed extensive rural general medical training with rotations in Charleville, Mt Isa, Jandowie, Miles, Texas and Stanthorpe. It was during this time she saw the need for excellent mental health treatment and decided to focus on psychiatry training in the Gold Coast Health Service and Darling Downs Health Service.

Outside of work, Dr Olm practices what she preaches, using mindfulness everyday especially when balancing her private practice with raising three small children and a border collie.
