Townsville Flood Fundraiser

Healthe Care has raised a total of $47,309.50 to help the Townsville community.

The Townsville floods have had a huge and ongoing impact on the region. Now as the clean up begins our hearts go out to the Townsville community and all those directly impacted by the extensive damage and loss caused by this natural disaster.

In true Healthe Care spirit, our hospital network dug deep to undertake local fundraising which has included:

– Sausage sizzles and barbecues
– Taco Thursday for Townsville
– Clothes sales and fashion parades
– Fundraising raffles and gift vouchers including all expenses paid to the Chinese Festival of Racing
– Coffee, muffin and cake days
– Mufti and free dress days
– A Lunar New Year lunch
– Cake stalls
– Live radio crosses

We’re delighted to advise that our Healthe Care network has raised a total of $47,309.50 to be donated to GIVIT which, in collaboration with Council will ensure all funds are allocated to where it is needed most.

The announcement was marked by an onsite cheque presentation to Cr Jenny Hill, Mayor of the City of Townsville along with Townsville Private Clinic staff and Townsville community representatives.

GIVIT Founder and Director, Julie Wright said, “GIVIT is incredibly thankful to Healthe Care and its staff for their generous donation which will be used to assist Townsville residents recover from this devastating flooding event. Working with our charity and recovery partners, GIVIT will ensure 100% of this donation goes to where it is needed most – to purchase urgently needed items to help people get back on their feet. From bedding, to beds and washing machines to school uniforms, all items will be purchased from local businesses in order to support the economic recovery of the regions.”
